I have always kept the "Testimonies' section open for letters received from people who have improved their health after adopting the Hallelujah Diet. But the below article caught my eye and I thought you might find it of interest, because it tells how the health of former president Bill Clinton was improved after adopting a diet similar to the one Hallelujah Acres has been sharing with all who would listen for nearly 23 years:
Looking considerably thinner than during his days as a McDonald's hamburger-eating President, Bill Clinton went on TV several months ago to tout the benefits of a vegan diet. Citing Dr. T. Colin Campbell, author of the bestseller The China Study and Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr., author of Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, as two of the of his inspirations, Clinton said, "I went on essentially a plant-based diet. I live on beans, legumes, vegetables, fruits... I drink a protein supplement every morning, no dairy. I drink almond milk mixed in with fruit, and a protein powder. It changed my whole metabolism and I lost 24 pounds, and I got back to basically what I weighed in high school." Clinton highlighted his concern over a worsening heart condition as the driving force behind his decision to make a radical change in his eating habits. "I did it because after I had this stent put in, I realized that even though it happens quite often that after bypass surgery you lose the veins, because they're thinner and weaker than arteries, the truth is that it clogged up, which means that the cholesterol was still causing buildup in my vein that was part of my bypass. I didn't want it to happen again. So I did all this research and it says that 82% of the people since 1986 who have gone on a plant-based, no dairy, no meat of any kind — I eat very little fish — 82% of the people who have done that have begun to heal themselves. Their arterial blockage cleans up, the calcium deposit around their heart breaks up," he said in a televised interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer. During a more recent CNN special called “The Last Heart Attack,” former President Bill Clinton was asked by CNN medical reporter Dr. Sanjay Gupta if he is eating a vegan diet. Viewers held their breath as the former leader of the free world hesitated. Would a former US President alienate some of the most powerful political interests in the country by claiming to be on a vegan diet? Would he endanger any political ambitions his wife may have? Clinton put the health of the country first by admitting, since he eats no animal food, he is indeed a vegan. The veggie burger now has the Presidential seal of approval. So what can becoming a vegan do for your country? Well, how about saving millions of lives and half a trillion dollars over the next ten years. I could go on about all the hundreds of proven ecological and medical benefits attributed to the vegan lifestyle, but the CNN special summed it up by following two cardiac patients over about a year. Both were in their sixties, very ill and told by the medical establishment to have by-pass surgery ASAP! One elected to not have surgery but instead followed a vegan diet Caldwell B. Esselstyn Jr., M.D. A year later she was feeling great and jumping rope like a high school athlete. The other patient, who elected to have surgery, was in pain a year later and getting ready for additional surgery. Dr. Esselstyn’s research has shown that a vegan diet, with no added oil, can reverse serious cardiovascular disease almost 100% of the time.
