Spring Hormone Balancing Tips

Hormone Balancing: Spring is a Great Time for a Fresh Start

Spring is in the air, and many people are putting together to-do lists to clean up their home and yard. As you are considering your spring cleaning goals, don’t neglect the internal spring cleaning that is needed for your body. It is easy to slip into unhealthy habits, and you can use springtime as an opportunity for a fresh start with your health goals. By making these changes, it is possible to improve your overall health and balance your hormones at the same time. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

Protect Your Sleep Habits

How many hours do you sleep each night? Poor sleep habits can cause many problems for your hormones and health, so it is essential that you make it a priority to get 7 – 8 hours of sleep each night. Turn off the TV and set down your cell phone before bed, making it easier for you to climb in bed at a reasonable hour so that you can get the sleep that you need. Make sure that you stay consistent with your sleep patterns during the week and on the weekends.

Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

It might be convenient to reach for a processed snack on the way out the door, but you need to assess your eating habits and how they are impacting your health. When you are spring cleaning in your home, get rid of the unhealthy junk food and fill the cupboards with healthier alternatives instead. It is just as easy to grab a piece of fruit when you are on the run, and this healthy treat will support your body and assist with hormone balancing at the same time. Also, try adding a delicious salad with your lunch and dinner meals.

Go Outside

Our modern society spends a lot of time indoors, which means that we are missing out on several important things that are gained by spending time outside: exercise and vitamin D. Spending time in the sunshine helps your body to produce the vitamin D that is needed to support your health. At the same time, you can participate in fun physical exercises that get your body moving. If you don’t have the opportunity to spend more time outside, consider an indoor exercise routine as well as a high quality vitamin D3 supplement to ensure that you have healthy vitamin D levels. Even if you have time to spend outside, it still might be beneficial to use a daily vitamin D3 supplement. When supplementing with Vitamin D3, we increase our absorption of calcium and need vitamin K2 to direct the calcium out of the blood and into the bones.
