Why You Should Quit Drinking Diet Soda

In Newsmax Health, dated January 20, 2015, there was an interesting article concerning diet soda with the title “Why You Should Quit Drinking Diet Soda.”

The article begins with:

“When diet sodas were first introduced to the general public in the middle of the twentieth century, they seemed like the best new thing in food since sliced bread. The idea was that you could drink sodas without counting calories and worrying about weight gain. . . .”

According to the article “59% of Americans drink diet sodas regularly hoping to lose weight” – yet “evidence shows that they do not help lose weight. In fact, they increase your risk of becoming obese and may even be worse for your health than regular sodas.”

The article goes on to tell how these artificial sweeteners can cause “neurological problems, autoimmune disorders, and probably cancer.”

Then it gives five good reasons, all backed by research, why you should quit drinking diet sodas:

The five reasons are:

  1. Weight Gain
  2. Diabetes
  3. Rotting Teeth
  4. Weak bones
  5. Cardiovascular disease

The article, at its conclusion, gives alternatives to help you beat your soda addiction – with the final alternative being: “Drink water. Healthy and cheap, water is perhaps the best drink of all.”

  1. Thanks for all d info,its so educating but my question is,all food can’t be eaten raw,beans is got to be cooked before eating and same is rice and other food,so what do we do?
