All I Want For Christmas Is…

Christmas is a wonderful and exciting time of the year for me – how about for you?

Christmas is a time of the year I have always enjoyed and looked forward to with great anticipation.

As a child I did not as yet know the true meaning of Christmas (the birth of the Saviour Jesus Christ), yet I still enjoyed the season greatly!

There were a number of things that made Christmas very special to me as a child growing up – among them being that it was a time of family fun, fellowship, gifts and especially foods.

Foods mother only prepared at this special season of the year.

Many songs have been written concerning Christmas – some of them we still sing to this very day in our churches like “Silent Night, Holy Night”, “Away in a Manger”, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, and so many more.

And then there are the secular songs like “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas”, “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”, etc.

With Christmas only a few days away, I would like to take the beginning words of the song “All I Want for Christmas is . . . .” as the basis for a few thoughts I would like to share concerning Christmas 2014.

As far as I am concerned, the two most important questions a person can ever ask and know the answer to are:

  1. How can I know where I will spend eternity after this life is ended?
  2. How can I live in health and free of sickness while in this life?

I will answer these two questions in reverse order.

The Gift of Good Health

We live in a day where most people believe that health is something that you either possess or don’t possess, and there is little you can do to change these circumstances.

In most instances this is absolutely not true!

In fact, sickness is not something God designed his human creation to ever have to experience.

How do we know this to be true? Because the Bible tells us in 3 John 1:2…

“Beloved, I wish above all thing that thou mayest prosper, and BE IN HEALTH, even as thy soul prospereth”.

If God wants us to “BE IN HEALTH”, why then are so many sick?

Well, there are a number of reasons, but for this article I will limit my thoughts to the physical reasons.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 139:14: “I am . . . . wonderfully made” but the bible goes on to say in Galatians 6:7 “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”

Most people are unaware that consuming foods the Creator never intended to enter the body is the primary reason for most sicknesses. With the result being…

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
~ Hosea 4:6

The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 10: 39: “I have set before you LIFE and death, blessing and cursing: therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both thou and thy seed might live.”

Health and living a long healthy life thus becomes a matter of personal CHOICE!

Indeed, remember what Galatians 6:7 says: “whatsoever a man (or women) soweth, that shall he (or she) also reap.”

It Started Almost 40 Years Ago…

It will be 39 years ago this coming January 2015, when faced with a potentially life threatening colon cancer at age 42, I chose — instead of the conventional cancer treatments — to change my diet from the Standard American Diet to God’s Original Diet as found in Genesis 1:29 and to drink a lot of vegetable juices.

Because I made that choice to change my diet rather than accept the traditional medical modalities for that cancer, within a year my cancer was gone and for the next 25 years I did not experience as much as a cold, sore throat, headache, upset stomach, or even have need of a doctor or a drug.

This diet that restored my health later became known as the Hallelujah Diet.

Then on July 12, 2001, because of my foolishness in placing my body under unbelievable stress – a speaking tour to South Africa where I delivered 7 seminars in 6 days, and being in the air flying across the Atlantic Ocean twice and from city to city in South Africa, being in the air 53 hours during that 10-day speaking tour, I experienced a hemorrhagic stroke.

Once again, medical modalities were refused and I again turned to what was now known as the Hallelujah Diet.

The result?

I fully recovered from the stroke, and continued my seminars. Today, as I approach my 81st birthday, I am still experiencing life to the fullest in a strong and healthy body while still experiencing the health blessings of the Hallelujah Diet.

As we celebrate Christmas 2014, if it were possible, I would shout from the tallest building in the world, with a megaphone that could be heard around the world: “You don’t have to be sick if you will CHOOSE to change your diet”.

The Gift of Eternal Life

The Bible tells us in Luke 2:7 that the Virgin Mary brought forth her firstborn son, . . . and laid him in a manger.”

Just who was this “first born son” Mary brought into this world?

Luke 2:11 tells us just who this baby was:

“For unto you us is born this day in the city of David a SAVIOUR, which is Christ the Lord.”

Approximately 33 years after His birth, this Saviour, now a man, approached the banks of the Jordan River when John the Baptist proclaimed, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world.” (John 1:29).

Then we read in John 1:10 that though this SAVIOUR “was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”

Sadly, though His coming was prophesied many years before His appearing, the Jews did not recognize Him when he came for who He was, and thus we read in John 1:11, 12…

“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God. . .”

In Romans 3:23 we read “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” And in Romans 6:23 it says “For the wages of sin is death.”

Up to this point, we are in a terrible predicament, but then comes the rest of the verse:

“…..but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Romans 5:8 informs us: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

And in Ephesians 2:8: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God…..”

The Gift of God

Please notice that in the above verses, Jesus is spoken of twice as the “GIFT OF GOD!”, but until a GIFT is received, it is not yet a possession.

That is why the Bible tells us in John 1:11-13:

“He came unto his own, and his own received him not, but as many as RECEIVED him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on his name: which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

And so my friend, as we approach Christmas 2014, my question to you is “Have you RECEIVED this GIFT?”

This gift is available to all as the Bible so clearly states, “That WHOSOEVER shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:21)

Once you have called upon Him in prayer, and in simple faith received Him into your heart as your Saviour, then you too can exclaim:

“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift”
~ II Corinthians 9:15

As we celebrate Christmas 2014, I am so thankful that on May 29, 1957, (57-years ago) at a Billy Graham Crusade Rally in Madison Square Garden, New York City, I asked in prayer for Jesus to come into my heart and life and save me.

As a result I received God’s GIFT of eternal life and a guaranteed home in heaven after this life is ended.

And also, as we celebrate Christmas 2014, I thank God that almost 40 years ago, when faced with a potentially life threatening cancer, I turned from this world’s way of nourishing my body with the Standard American Diet, to God’s Genesis 1:29 diet.

God’s gift to me, through a simple change in diet, restored my physical body to wellness.

Dear friend, as we close this Christmas message, if you sent me your wish list of “All I want for Christmas is…..” what would be at the top of the list?

If you are experiencing physical breakdown, why not choose health by changing what you eat from the SAD diet of this world, to God’s Genesis 1:29 diet, and experience the gift of health.

And friend, if there has never been a time in your life when you received Jesus Christ into your life and heart as your personal Saviour, I pray you will receive the greatest GIFT ever offered to mankind:

“But the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE, through Jesus Christ the Lord.”
~ Romans 6:23
