A British study which monitored the health habits of 2,235 men over 35 years has found that five simple rules are the key to a long and healthy life:
- Regular exercise
- Healthy weight
- Healthy diet
- Little alcohol
- No smoking
“Following a healthy lifestyle confers surprisingly large benefits to health. Healthy behaviors have far more beneficial effect than any medical treatment or preventive procedure,” said the study’s leader, Peter Elwood from Cardiff University’s School of Medicine.
Editor Comment: These are the “rules” or principles I have observed for almost 40 years of my life – except for the “little alchohol” rule. I became a Christian on May 29, 1957 (58 years ago), and immediately gave up all alcohol, tobacco, and cursing. I will celebrate my 81st birthday on February 12, 2015.
