How To Become Your Own Doctor

I wrote an article recently about how I became my own doctor 37 years ago and stopped carrying health insurance — and what the result of those choices has been for me. I promised that I would also share how you could become your own doctor, and that’s what I’d like to do now.

The Essential Prerequisite to Being Your Own Doctor

Let me begin with a word of CAUTION!

I would strongly discourage anyone from attempting to be their own doctor if they are not on The Hallelujah Diet & Lifestyle.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that if a person is not on The Hallelujah Diet, they should make sure they have the very best health insurance policy available, because they will surely need it!

If a person wants to experience wellness, they must make prevention of physical problems their highest priority, because if a person continues to eat a diet and live a lifestyle that causes physical problems it would be foolish to even consider being their own doctor.

Here is what the Bible has to say::

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
~ Galatians 6:7

This is an irreversible law of God! If you continue to sow sickness into your body by consuming those foods that cause sickness, you will reap exactly what you sow — more sickness.

The Source of the Problem

Before my diet and lifestyle change in 1976, I was eating the Standard American Diet (SAD) which is comprised of high amounts of animal flesh and dairy foods, as well as lots of refined sugar, flour, and grains. I got very little exercise, and I was often sick. After learning that these foods were the primary cause of my physical problems I eliminated them from my diet and began exercising when I learned how important it is for health.

Once I eliminated those sickness-causing foods from my diet and adopted a modified Genesis 1:29 diet (which included an abundance of mostly raw, plant-sourced foods, along with lots of freshly extracted vegetable juices) and began a daily exercise regimen, I stopped getting sick.

It doesn’t take an Einstein to realize that there is a correlation between what we eat and the physical problems we experience!

Understanding the relationship between what we eat and the physical problems we experience is key to taking control of our health, eliminating sickness, and becoming one’s own doctor.

Medical Doctors are Trained to Treat Sickness

Doctors go to medical school for eight years but do not to learn about the prevention of sickness. Rather, they are trained how to reduce the symptoms of sickness for those who are already sick.

And how have they been taught to mitigate those symptoms? Through the use of modern medicine which destroys the immune system and causes harm — a direct violation of the Hippocratic Oath!

The original, English version of the Hippocratic Oath (named after Hippocrates, the father of medicine) includes these statements:

“I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; I will keep them from harm and injustice. I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody if asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect.”

Now, I don’t condemn doctors for what they do — because that’s all they know! It’s what they have been taught.

In medical school, doctors receive absolutely no training using a wellness model, nor are they schooled in the causes of sickness.

Instead, in the service of profitability, they are trained using a sickness model. A steady stream of sick people is an absolute necessity for the entire medical profession.

Thus, sickness is the norm and what a doctor is trained to expect and look for in each patient.

Now, considering the diet and lifestyle of the average person today, doctors don’t have to look very hard before they find physical breakdown. High blood pressure and cholesterol abound, as does arthritis, diabetes, osteoporosis, and cancers of all kinds.

Not to mention that the average person is carrying much more weight than his/her frame was designed to support.

A doctor is trained to examine a patient to find physical or psychological problems that they can treat. But when it comes to how to prevent sickness they have no training! It should, therefore, come as no surprise that doctors suffer from the same physical problems, to the same percentages, as their patients.

If doctors cannot keep their own physical bodies healthy, how can they help a patient recover from physical problems similar to the ones the doctor is experiencing?

If there were no sick people to treat the only purpose for the existence of doctors and hospitals and the entire medical community would be to repair bodies broken in accidents.

Wellness Is the Key

If a person wants to experience wellness, the medical profession is not the place to get it. So where does a person go to learn about wellness – how to obtain wellness, and how to maintain wellness?

Teaching wellness is what Hallelujah Acres is all about and what we have been all about for the past 21 years.

Hallelujah Acres teaches health from a Biblical perspective! By following God’s original nutritional plan in Genesis 1:29, we teach that you can restore, rebuild, and transform your self-healing body that God created you to have in the first place!

Over the past 21 years, millions of men and women across America and around the world have adopted The Hallelujah Diet and recovered from over 170 different physical problems — and they don’t get sick anymore. You can read thousands of their testimonies here.

Promoting Wellness Throughout History

Over 100 years ago, the following words were spoken by Thomas Edition:

THE DOCTOR OF THE FUTURE will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

In the Gospel of Mark, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Mark had the following to say concerning the utter failure of physicians to restore health to a woman who had an issue of blood in the days of Jesus:

“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.”
Mark 5:25-26

Now consider these  quotes from Hippocrates, who lived some 400 years before Christ, and who is credited with being the father of medicine:

“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise… we would have found the safest way to health.”

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

“Walking is man’s best medicine.”

“Natural forces within us are the true healers of disease.”

And God had this to say immediately after creating Adam over 6,000 years ago concerning how to obtain and maintain wellness:

“AND GOD SAID, Behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; TO YOU IT SHALL BE FOR FOOD (meat)”
~ Genesis 1:29

I find it so fascinating that Thomas Edison, who spoke his words over a century ago; Mark, who spoke his words over 2,000 years ago; Hippocrates, who spoke his words several thousand years ago; and God, who spoke His words some 6,000 years ago are in complete agreement with what Hallelujah Acres has been teaching for the past 21 years.

2 Steps to Becoming Edison’s “Doctor of the Future”

Based on the quotes of these men of yesteryear and many others through the history who have spoken similar words, you can understand why Hallelujah Acres has worked tirelessly for the past 21 years to promote a diet and lifestyle that Thomas Edison said would distinguish the “doctor of the future” from traditional medicine and present day doctors

Step 1 – “Give No Medicine (Drugs)”

When her husband was in office, First Lady Nancy Reagan spoke out about drug use and encouraged the “Just Say No” approach. We all know that she was referring to recreational drugs, but I believe that would be the best way to deal with almost every over-the-counter and doctor-prescribed drug as well.

Did you know that every drug is a toxic substance, a poison to the body, whether it is doctor prescribed, over the counter, or recreational? When these toxic substances enter the body, they can cause serious trouble.

These drugs often produce adverse side effects for which additional drugs are often necessary to cover up the symptoms produced by the first drug!

This cycle of drugs initiates ill health because they also weaken the immune system, which must be kept strong if we are to prevent sickness.

The Bible warns us against drugs in this passage (bold face added for emphasis):

“And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”
~ Revelation 18:23

The Greek word for sorceries is PHARMAkia, the root word from which we derive the words PHARMAceuticals, PHARMAcy and PHARMAcist.

A pharmaceutical is a drug! So what is the Bible saying here? That “by ‘drugs’ were all nations deceived!”

Vaccinations are also drugs.  Writing on this topic in the March 2013 issue of The Blaylock Wellness Report, Russell Blayblock, M,D. said:

“Avoid vaccinations …The most dangerous include the HPV, tetanus, flu, and hepatitis B vaccines. Vaccines shift immunity to a Th2 phenotype that suppresses cellular immunity – which is most critical in preventing infections and cancer.”

Step 2 – “(Learn) Care of the Human Frame”

Edison also wrote that the doctor of the future will “interest his patients in the care of the human frame.”  Sadly, if there is any area where the Christian community is woefully ignorant, it is in the area of how to maintain a body fit for the Master’s use.

For proof of the truth of that statement just listen to the prayer requests for sickness in our churches – over 90% of them are for sickness.

The Bible tells us that:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
~ Hosea 4:6

So let me attempt to impart a little knowledge so that all reading this can better understand why we get sick, why spiritual Christians are just as sick and not-so-spiritual Christians, and how we can eliminate sickness…

Our Immune System is the Key

The underlying cause of all sickness as well as the aging process is a damaged or malfunctioning immune system! A multitude of factors play into the degeneration of the immune system, the most prominent are nutrition, lifestyle, and environmental factors.

The factors each of us have almost total control over are nutrition and lifestyle – what we eat and how often and vigorously we exercise. We will address those key factors in another Health Tip.

That’s it for this week! But before closing, let me once again share in its entirety what Thomas Edison had to say about the Doctor of the Future:

“THE DOCTOR OF THE FUTURE will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

Next week, the good Lord willing and if the creeks don’t rise too high, we will share more about how you can personally become your own doctor. Trust you will join us and that you will share these Health Tips with friends and loved ones.

Love your article. It does take a lot of spiritual strength and mental thought, and to keep telling yourself that you are doing the right thing, to change the way we eat, (we are on the Hallelujah Diet) and to get lots of exercise, (hard to do in Michigan during the winter). We are doing the Tibetan Rite exercises. Keep up the seminars, wish more people would change their diet and lifestyle. Ora and Audrey Peters

I read yor articles and share them with my senior group at work and the congregation from my church when they will listen. I recently suffered CHF three times. I am on more medicine than I can believe. I am ready to get more involved with your program. This article is great and it has helped me make this decision. Thank you for your kindness in sharing information of preventive health and wellness

  3. I’ve all but ditched Christianity, but am in total agreement when it comes to what you share about nutrition and doctors. One of the main reasons I tend to ditch my faith is that God allowed me to become damaged by pharmaceuticals. I have not been able to heal from this damage. Thank you for your message.

Laurie, Please don/t blame God for the decisions you made. God has given us each a free will to choose – you chose the pharmaceuticals (probably at doctors recommendation) – If a doctor was involved, blame the doctor, but don’t blame God, as He wasn’t involved in your decision.

God warns us about pharmaceuticals in Revelation 18::23 (the word “sorceries” in that verse comes from the Greek work “pharmakia” – translated drugs).and in English reads “For by thy drugs (sorceries) were all nations deceived”.

Life is a series of choices and we are accountable for those choices even if the doctor was involved in that decision.. Galatians 6:7 warns: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whasoever a man (or woman) soweth, that shall he (or she) also reap.” Sadly, you are not the only one who has been deceived by pharmaceuticals.

God loves you and wants you to be well both physically (See III John 2:1) and spiritually (See John 3:16). Don’t let what happened to you physically destroy the spiritual, because it is only through Jesus we obtain spiritual healing and a guaranteed home in heaven when this body finally dies. .(11 Corinthians 5:8)

Right now you need to thank God that he has shown you a way to improve your health with an improved diet and lifestyle, and then pray that God will give you great wisdom in how to go about restorying your health.

      Dear Laurie,
I’m sorry that you became damaged from taking pharmaceuticals.
But I have to disagree that it was God that caused the situation.
God is LOVE to everyone including you. If it was God that harmed you
that would go against his loving nature.

Instead, think of it this way. We all have choices but not always wisdom.
I hope you will turn back to God and learn how to live his way.
      Many blessings to you.

      Sylvia

  6. I agree with you on most of the article. But, now that I have an Inguinal_hernia I think I will have to go to a doctor to have it repaired. Unless you know of some way, exercises or whatever that will help/heal it. I think I’m glad I have health insurance now.

  7. Well hi there from Australia. I do agree that we must be in charge of our own bodies and health. In fact only recent a very good medical practitioner stated ” don’t trust doctors”. So true it often pays to get 2nd opinions/diagnosis. I am in my 50s n do not take any regular medications. A few herbs n naturals, now mostly vegetarian due to developing a fiberoid, trying to eliminate with nutritional health n natural remedies. Love my fresh carrot n apple juice.
