Cancer – A Natural Approach

In last week’s Health Tip, we compared the incredible differences in terms of costs and outcomes between the medical approach and the natural approach to dealing with cardiovascular problems.

In this Health Tip we are going to start to take a look at an alternative way of dealing with cancer.

Cancer takes the lives of ever increasing numbers of family members, bankrupting those families without adequate insurance coverage, and becoming an ever greater drain on the nation’s economy.

In fact, one of the driving forces in the promotion of a National Health Care system has been the extremely high cost of cancer treatments which can easily exceed $100,000 per patient before that cancer patient dies.

Medical Costs For Cancer Treatments

“As a patient approaches death, medical costs rise proportionately. According to the Journal of Clinical Oncology study, the average monthly cost of treatment as the patient moves into his final six months of life can rise to as much as $65,557, with the greatest expensive coming from anti-cancer drugs and treatment, as well as the cost of hospitalization”. Following is the testimony of just one patient who went the medical route for breast cancer:

“My personal experience included 3 surgeries, 10 months of Chemotherapy, 2 months of Radiation, 3 PET Scans, and more medications, CT Scans and X-rays than I care to count. I had good insurance so didn’t pay a lot out of pocket. If I had not had insurance, the cost would have been well over $300,000.00 for everything. Not to mention follow-up care for the next 5 years which includes regular PETs, CTs, X-rays and blood tests.”

What is Cancer?

Cancer is a class of diseases characterized by out-of-control cell growth. There are over 100 different types of cancer, and each is classified by the type of cell that is initially affected.

Cancer harms the body when damaged cells divide uncontrollably to form lumps or masses of tissue called tumors (except in the case of leukemia where cancer prohibits normal blood function by abnormal cell division in the blood stream).

Tumors can grow and interfere with the digestive, nervous, and circulatory systems and they can release hormones that alter body function. Tumors that stay in one spot and demonstrate limited growth are generally considered to be benign.

What Causes Cancer?

Cancer is ultimately the result of cells that uncontrollably grow and do not die. Normal cells in the body follow an orderly path of growth, division, and death. Programmed cell death is called apoptosis, and when this process breaks down, cancer begins to form.

Unlike regular cells, cancer cells do not experience programmatic death and instead continue to grow and divide. This leads to a mass of abnormal cells that grows out of control.”

Understanding Cancer

Before we go any further in pursuing the subject of cancer or medical treatments, we need to have an understanding of where cancer originates. To do this we are going to go back to the beginning – to where these physical bodies originated – back to creation.

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
(Genesis 2:7)

After God had created that first human body (Adam’s), and from Adam’s rib formed Eve, all future human physical life began at the cellular level. An egg cell from the mother and a sperm cell from the father were joined together at conception. These two cells began to rapidly multiply until an entirely new physical body had been formed.

These living cells are what the entire human physical body is comprised of, whether hair, nails, blood, bone, muscle, heart, immune system, or any  other part of our body. By the time a new physical body is fully developed and is ready to be born, it is comprised of approximately 100 trillion living cells.

This extremely rapid proliferation of cells is designed to cease according to God’s design. From here on and for the rest of that person’s life, these cells are designed to orderly replace approximately 300 million old cells with 300 million new cells every minute of every day for the rest of a person’s life.

God in His infinite wisdom made these bodies of ours to be constantly in the process of renewal and regeneration – replacing old cells with new cells in an orderly fashion. However, there is something of vital importance here in understanding the process. As these old cells die and are replaced with new cells, the quality of the new cell is dependent on the building materials available to it as it dies and replaces.

Providing quality building materials for these living cells as they die and replace should be of highest priority for each of us because this is something over which God has given us total control. That’s right; the quality of the new cell replacing the old cell is determined by us, not by God, nor by anyone else!

The Bible explains how this works in the following verse:

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
(Galatians 6:7)

Cancer in most instances is simply the end result of reaping what we have been sowing, and something over which most people have total control.

What We Eat and Drink Determines Cell Quality

The major key to quality and length of life is what we place into our bodies for nourishment every day along with the exercise our body receives on a daily basis. This is something most of us have total control over!

The quality of the new cell that is replacing the old cell is totally dependent upon the building materials we provide it as it dies and replaces. Poor building material produces a weaker cell than the one it is replacing, while superior building material produces a superior cell.

To gain a better understanding of how God intended us to nourish these living cells we need to go back to the first two chapters of Genesis.

After creating Adam and placing him into the Garden of Eden, God instructs Adam what he needed to eat in order to provide quality building materials for his physical body’s living cells. What were these building materials? God makes it abundantly clear:

“AND GOD SAID, Behold, I have given you every herb (vegetable) bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat (FOOD).”
(Genesis 1:29)

Now comes something of extreme importance – these garden foods were RAW – they were in their LIVING form, and contained their full complement of enzymes. These Genesis 1:29 garden foods were not cooked!

It is worth nothing that all wild creatures (since creation to this present day, whether vegetarian or carnivorous)  instinctively consume their food in its natural, raw, LIVING form, as served up by God in nature.

Sadly, mankind has lost this natural instinct. Today we cook most of our foods before consuming them. In addition, man has added numerous non-garden foods to his diet along with toxic chemicals.

All Cooked Food Is Dead Food

Cooked food is totally devoid of living enzymes and thus devoid of its life force. This means it is incapable of providing the quality building materials necessary to build a healthy, vibrantly alive, new cell. Because the new cell does not have quality building materials, the new cell is weaker than the cell it is replacing.

Continuing to consume a diet comprised of dead food, non-garden foods, and toxic chemicals results in a slow degeneration and deterioration of the cellular structure of the entire body. The longer a person remains on this dead, cooked-food diet, the greater the breakdown of the entire cellular structure of the body.

Cancer Is Cells Multiplying Out Of Control

A large part of my library is devoted to the subject of cancer. Some of these books say that cancer is caused by bacteria. Other say it is caused by parasites or by toxic substances in the air, water, or food. Still others say cancer is the judgment of God.

Since I was first told I had cancer in 1976, I have been researching this subject. And friend, after over 35 years of research, I have boiled it down to this simple explanation of just what cancer is:

Cancer is nothing more or less than cells multiplying out of control! No matter what name the medical community gives it, all cancer cells are merely maverick, out of control, misbehaving cells, behaving in a way God never intended… and there IS a reason why. In next week’s Health Tip we will examine what causes these cells to misbehave.

To be continued…..

Next week, the good Lord willing, in Health Tip #702 we will continue discussing cancer by answering such questions as:

  • Where Did Cancer Have Its Beginning? How Do Food Choices Effect Initiation and Growth of Cancer?
  • How Does the Medical Community Deal with Cancer?
  • Is There a Better Way than the Medical Way of Dealing with Cancer?

I hope you will join us!

  1. I was diagnosed with metastasized melanoma about 11 years ago and was introduced to the plant based diet at that time. Since then I have followed God’s basic health principals and can confirm that my health is better in my 40’s than it was in my 20’s! It isn’t about being strong enough or good enough. It isn’t about being perfect. We each have the opportunity to be satisfied with that which God has provided for our nourishment (in all areas) or we can seek fulfillment elsewhere. I can promise that the very most and best joy comes from what He provides. With regards to diet, that means we eat a lot of things that He grows for us! The fruit of the earth. If you turn your nose up at this sort of nourishment, you must accept that you choose that response. You can change your perspective to be grateful and fulfilled in what He provides in the flash of a moment. As Him. He will help you see the truth!
