Best Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables for Spring

What's the key to consuming the absolute best fruits and vegetables? It's all about seasonal selection.

Followers of the Hallelujah Diet know that eating ample raw vegetables and fruits is the key to success. With the right sustenance, the body will be fueled well enough to thrive and self-heal without assistance from medication and treatment from doctors. But how can you ensure you're consuming the absolute best fruits and vegetables? It's all about seasonal selection, according to Ann Malkmus. As she explains in her book, "Unravel the Mystery":

"Focus on foods that are in season," she writes. "They will most likely be fresher as they didn't have to travel across the country to get to the market."

Delicious Spring Fruits and Veggies
While we certainly encourage you to eat a variety of produce, consider prioritizing the following fruits and vegetables during the springtime for ultimate freshness and flavor, as suggested by the Produce for Better Health Foundation:

  • Apricots
  • Asparagus
  • Broccoli
  • Collard greens
  • Fava beans
  • Green beans
  • Mango
  • Mustard greens
  • Oranges
  • Pineapple
  • Spinach
  • Strawberries
  • Swiss Chard
  • Vidalia Onions

Choose Your Produce Wisely
Remember: When purchasing produce – regardless of the season – it's in your best interest to shop organically whenever possible.

"While it isn't necessary to only use organically grown produce, the nutritional level will be greater and the chemical residue will be less," said Ann. "We would typically say that the health benefits of consuming fruits and vegetables far outweighs the risks from pesticide exposure however, when the body is working so hard to heal, even small amounts of pesticide residue will cause it to work harder."

Keep these fruits and vegetables in mind as you shop your way through the produce section during the upcoming season of sunshine.

Hello. I’ve been on HALLELUJAH Diet for about 20 years. Really like it a lot. My overall well-being has increased significantly. 6 years ago I’ve been diagnosed with HEP-C. Have tried to get rid of it using HALLELUJAH DIET, but, to no avail. Therefore I had to resort to HEP-C medication. My doctor informed me that this medication is working very well. Another 2 months of this treatment will show if I’m HEP-C free.

I look forward to buying in season produce at my local farmer’s market. I’m thrilled at all they have for sale even this time of year!

I love this time of the year when the fresh vegetables and fruits come out. The color of every fruit looks bright and beautiful.. Reminds me of what God said about his creation in Genesis 1:30-31 30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so. 31 God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
