72% of Health Tip Subscribers Want Health Care Reform Repealed

For the past month, Hallelujah Health Tip subscribers have been participating in a poll which asked their thoughts on the Health Care Reform bill that Congress passed this year.

The 72% of Health Tip subscribers who said Health Care Reform should be repealed is in keeping with national polls that reveal the majority of all Americans feel the same way.

Health Care Reform:

  • Should be repealed (Received 831 votes)
  • Bad for American Health (Received 379 votes)
  • Good for American Health (Received 96 votes)
  • Won’t Affect American Health (Received 28 votes)

When you combine the 831 who said Health Care Reform should be repealed in the above poll and combine it with the 379 who said this bill was bad for the health of the American people we find the total is 1,210. Only 96 said it was good for American health.

What Others Are Saying About Health Care Reform

In a statement to the states that joined the lawsuit to repeal Health Care Reform, Federal Judge Roger Vinson recently gave permission to press forward on the two points most legal analysts find the strongest for its repeal:

1. Federally mandated expansion of Medicaid will “run [state] budgets off the cliff.”

2. Requiring people to have healthcare insurance exceeds the federal government’s constitutional authority.

Constitutional Attorney Warns

Retired Constitutional Attorney Michael Connelly, who has read the entire text of the bill, says he is concerned that parts of the bill might be unconstitutional. He also found parts of the bill untrue:

The bill, contrary to what supporters say, does provide for rationing of health care, particularly for senior citizens; it does allow free health care for illegals; it does provide for free abortion services, and there is more.

Attorney Connelly says the bill willeventually force private insurance companies out of business. It will also place everyone into a government-run system by which all decisions about personal health care will be made by federal bureaucrats.

In essence, all expenditures for health care will be controlled by government.

Attorney Connelly went on to say the most “scary” thing of all is that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead, it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred or been contemplated.

If this law or one similar to it is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will have effectively been destroyed. The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government.

The Heritage Foundation summarizes the issue:

The health care system needs reform, but not the types of changes enacted under the new Health Care law.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act moves the health care system in the wrong direction. This highly unpopular law would assert federal control over health care benefits and financing, erect a complex one-size-fits-all health system, and centralize America’s care decisions in Washington.

Instead, Congress should transform the health care system into one that empowers individuals and families, not Washington, to control more of their health care decisions.

The Heritage Foundation offers a solution: “repeal Health Care Reform.”

The upcoming election provides the citizens of the United States an opportunity to choose who will control their Health Care – big government or the citizens themselves.

If we vote for those who have vowed to repeal and defund Health Care Reform, there is hope for the future.

If we vote back into office those who have created the monster or vowed to keep Health Care Reform the law of the land, we will reap what we sow.

May God give us great wisdom as we go to the polls on Election Day 2010.
