3 Reasons to Invest in a Plant Based Diet

By following a plant based diet, you're consuming only the natural sustenance from the earth that God intended for you all along.

By following a plant-based diet, you're consuming only the natural sustenance from the earth that God intended for you all along. The nourishment you receive from organic fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds is all your body needs to thrive, according to Genesis 1:29.

Genesis 1:29 "Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you."

Inspired by this idea and God's Original Diet, our founder Rev. George Malkmus developed the Hallelujah Diet in hopes that people would stay away from the Standard American Diet and fuel their bodies back to health.

God's Original Diet consisted of natural sustenance grown from the earth. God's Original Diet consisted of natural sustenance grown from the earth.

"From the time God gave Adam that original 100 percent raw, plant-based diet in Genesis 1:29, until flood waters destroyed all plant life by the great flood 1,700 years later, there is not a single recorded instance of sickness and the patriarchs lived to an average age of 912 years old," Rev. Malkmus wrote in his book "God's Original Diet."

Removing processed treats, dairy products and meats from your diet will benefit your body tremendously. Here are three reasons to invest in a plant-based diet:

1. It Strengthens the Immune System
Did you know that refined sugars can completely break down the immune system? That means every time you consume an unhealthy sweet treat, you're fueling the compromise of your internal defense mechanism. By eliminating such "foods" and relying on a plant-based diet, you'll receive an abundance of enzymes, phytonutrients and minerals that can optimize your immune system.

2. It Can Reduce Your Chance of Developing Chronic Conditions
There's a reason it's called "junk food." According to Dr. Mercola, when you consume these poor excuses for nourishment, your metabolism slows down, blood pressure levels rise and your risk for developing chronic conditions increases.

"Dairy products are filled with saturated butterfat."

We know what you're thinking: We know junk food is bad for us, but what's wrong with meat and dairy products? Since when are these considered unhealthy? Dairy products, such as milk and cheese, are filled with saturated butterfat. Consuming too much can lead to heart disease, diabetes and more. Additionally, animal fat found in meat products can block blood flow, leading to high blood pressure. Intake of animal protein has also been associated with a 4-fold greater risk of cancer death in middle-aged adults.

When you remove all of these harmful foods from your diet and instead rely on plant sources, you'll eliminate your chance of developing chronic conditions. Instead, you'll fuel a healthy, thriving body that wards away disease and illness on its own.

3. It Eliminates the Need for Most Medication
When you follow the Hallelujah Diet as taught, you obtain all of the essential nutrients and vitamins the body needs to heal itself. That eliminates the need for most medications, according to Hallelujah Diet health expert Olin Idol.

"If a person will simply follow the principles of the Hallelujah Diet, it really doesn't matter what the underlying cause of the symptoms is," he said. "The body, with the innate healing wisdom God has programmed within will, in most situations, carry out self-healing."

When you take advantage of the natural offerings presented by God and stop eating the harmful products made of chemicals, you can lead a long, fulfilling life.

It’s amazing how much of a change a simple diet change can make in our life. I’m thankful to understand the importance of a good healthy diet at a young age and I can teach my daughter the right way to eat.

My Aunt told me today that I need to eat red meat. Because there is a vitamin your body needs that you can only get from beef. A B-vitamin. And how do you get your iron with this diet? I think I’m low on that. I did the Hallelujah diet for a year about 12 years ago. Thanks, Donna

Vegans should supplement with B12, the best form being methylcobalamin. Click Here for an article about B12.
According to the book Becoming Raw, “Vegetarians are not more likely than nonvegetarians to have iron-deficiency anemia.” This book gives great science behind a raw food lifestyle.

  3. These are good reasons to follow the plant based diet. We all want to be healthy. It is good news to learn that eating the natural food provided by God is the best way to nourish the body.

I eat vegan and I can’t lose weight at all. What can I change? If I just have a smoothie I am hungry an hour later.

    • Melody Hord September 23, 2019

I know exactly how you feel. A smoothie does not hold me up at ALL! Especially if it contains sweet fruit. The fruit just causes a sugar surge which makes me hungrier than before.
Some folks enjoy protein powder in their smoothie which can help make it more sustaining.
Nuts and nut butters provide staying power. Nuts and seeds and salad dressings with extra virgin olive oil help satisfy as well.

I have to agree with my co worker Connie. All those reasons is good. When we look back and see how creation started, God only wanted the best for his children. So being healthy and giving us the right food to eat. It is up to us to choose to eat and be healthy meaning putting the right food in our bodies. “God’s Original Diet.”

  6. I’ve found that
“when you’re hungry, eat.” No matter if it’s only 1 hour later. If you are eating raw foods or smoothies or juices then eat when you’re hungry. Be conscious of what you’re eating. And enjoy your food. Raw foods will heal and you’ll not gain weight, so I wouldn’t go by the rule of eating three meals a day, you’re eating raw food, so eat whenever you’re hungry. Make little snacks like granola bars that contain nuts and seeds and eat a little of that with your smoothie or in between those bigger meals if you still want to eat just 3 times a day. This is just my theory. 😋

I’m having a hard time becoming a plant base person. The Holy Spirit is suggesting that I change my eating habits. I live with my two kids and it’s seem very difficult. Please can you give me some advise on how to start. My children are adults.

      Hi Sharon,
Sometimes people set aside a certain amount of time to try it out, maybe a week or month. Keeping nut butter on hand can help if you get tempted by something you know is not good for you, because you can grab the nut butter, eat a couple tablespoons quickly, and hopefully the craving will pass.
If you do decide to partake in animal foods, then making sure they are clean is important. In other words, check to see if they are USDA organic. Or if you eat fish, that it is wild, not factory farmed.
CLICK HERE a guide to a typical day on the Hallelujah Diet. Also, Have you tried BarleyMax? It is such a great part of the Hallelujah Diet. My friend and I are always changing and refining our diets. We learn as we go.
