“Dear Rev. Malkmus, Thank you for your continued outreach in this critical need for health in this sick world in which we live. My optometrist says she sees signs of macular degeneration in my eyes. Please tell me what foods would be best to eat in stopping the advancement of this condition.”

Hi Marian, Before we can talk about a specific physical problem, we need to understand the concept: We here at Hallelujah Acres are not doctors, and we do not develop specific dietary plans for specific diseases. That would be prescribing for a specific physical condition and only doctors and nutritionists can legally do that.
Rather, we here at Hallelujah Acres have found over the past 20-plus years that when we provide the body with the basic resources it needs by way of diet and lifestyle — which The Hallelujah Diet provides — the many and various diagnoses for physical conditions and various diseases really don’t matter.
We have learned that the body wants to be well and will work diligently to restore and maintain health no matter what the condition is when provided with the nutrients it needs to do so. When the condition is life-threatening, a more aggressive approach such as The Hallelujah Recovery Diet may be appropriate in place of the basic Hallelujah Diet.
We have had reports from people who were dealing with macular degeneration telling of almost miraculous improvement from this condition following a diet and lifestyle change. Numerous testimonies are available here.
One of those testimonies appears as follows:
“Two summers ago I was diagnosed with macular degeneration – an “incurable” disease. I was the youngest patient my eye doctor had ever seen with this devastating eye disease and she said that I would probably be completely blind in about 10 years. She sent me to a retina specialist who confirmed the disease.
“I started on The Hallelujah Diet 100% shortly after hearing my prognosis thanks to the advice from my good friend and Hallelujah Acres Health Minister, Rebecca H. Six months later, I returned to the eye doctor because I was having trouble seeing clearly out of my right eye (I wear contacts for near-sightedness). She gave me an eye exam and dilated my eyes again to check for problems. Completely astounded, she said, ‘You are having trouble seeing because your right eye has improved by four diopters so your contacts are too strong for your eye. Not only that, your macular degeneration is gone!’
“She asked me if I had been doing anything differently and I happily told her all about The Hallelujah Diet. She has been sharing the word with her other patients who also suffer from this ‘incurable’ disease. I went back to see her last week for my annual exam as she had said she couldn’t wait to see me to see if the macular degeneration had come back or not – it had not! She confirmed that not only was I the youngest person she had ever seen to have macular degeneration, I was now the only person she has ever known to cure themselves of this “incurable” disease! Praise God!”
