The Jericho Road Leads to Hallelujah Acres

“And Jesus, answering, said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.”
~ Luke 10:33-34

Later in this Health Tip, I’m going to introduce you to someone who made the transition from the Standard American Diet to The Hallelujah Diet. To set the stage for that story, I would like to give the above biblical account a 21st century update.

For this 2013 telling of the Good Samaritan story, I would like for us to consider the way that the average person, who is experiencing physical problems today, is dealt with by the medical community, and compare it with the way that the wounded soul was dealt with some 2,000 years ago on the Jericho Road…

How Today’s Medical “Thieves” Deal with Sickness

Let’s look at this story sentence by sentence, and apply it to modern times…

“A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.”

Today, in our so-called “enlightened society,” when a person follows traditional doctor’s prescriptions for their physical problems, what is often the result? After the chemotherapy, drugs, radiation, and surgery, many have been stripped of their life savings, and then left “wounded,” some even “half-dead.”

How the Church Deals with Sickness

“And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.”

After the medical community has failed in its effort to restore health to an individual — with toxic drugs and invasive procedures that weaken the body rather than heal it — along come the well-meaning church people, the preacher, and fellow Christians.

Oh yes, they take time to pray for the afflicted person, asking God to intervene, but that is all they know how to do, and as time goes on and the sickness is not healed, they too “pass by.”

Every once in a while, a wounded, half-dead person — who has done everything the doctor and church people said should be done, yet is still suffering and dying — will tell others in the church that they heard that a change in diet might help bring them hope and healing.

Sadly, this solution is most often laughed at and ridiculed by preachers and fellow Christians.

Here’s what they often tell that suffering individual: “That’s a dangerous thing to do” or “You need to keep doing what the doctor says,” or “A diet change can’t help you,” or “Don’t do anything rash or crazy,“ or “You need to just trust God,” or “If you had enough faith,” or, or, or . . . .

Why No One Talks About the Healing Power of Diet

Have you ever wondered why it is that a medical doctor can legally prescribe all kinds of toxic drugs and immune-destroying procedures while it is illegal for a preacher, nutritionist or any other individual, to tell someone that a changed diet can help their body recover from the physical problem they are experiencing?

In fact, it is even against the law for a medical doctor in California to suggest that a changed diet might help their condition — even after chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery have failed to restore health to a dying person. For that advice, a medical doctor in California can be fined, lose his/her license, and go to jail.

Today, there is but one legal venue a person can pursue when dealing with physical or psychological problems, and that is the medical route — an industry that has great political and monetary power, controlled by the American Medical Association, and the multi-billion dollar drug industry, all protected by the FDA.

“Big Pharma” has a monopoly on healing modalities, and federal and state laws have been enacted to protect this monopoly from any and all competition.

What the Bible Tells Us about Modern Medicine

But what does the Bible have to say about the so-called “modern medicine” approach to dealing with the physical problems that the whole country (including the Christian community) has bought into?

First, the Bible tells us that this approach is not so modern. In fact, some 2,000 years ago, the Bible addressed this approach:

“And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.
~ Mark 5:25-26

Doesn’t this ancient verse very accurately describe what often results when a person goes to a doctor and pursues the modern medical modalities available to them for their physical problems?

Doctors and Meds Cannot Heal

Have you ever been healed of anything when you pursued the medical and drug route? Or instead of healing, have you simply been given a “Band Aid” to mask the symptoms of your problem?

If you are diabetic, have drugs been able to HEAL you of your diabetic condition? Or have you been told that you will have to be on insulin the rest of your life, while you continue to experience deteriorating health, in spite of the best efforts of the doctor and all that medicine has to offer?

If you have arthritis, has modern medicine HEALED you of that debilitating and painful condition? Or have you been told that the condition will no doubt worsen, that you will need surgery (if it hasn’t failed you already), and that you will have to switch to more and more powerful drugs for the increasing pain?

If you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or high triglycerides, has the doctor been able to HEAL you of those problems? Or have you been told that you will have to take drugs for these symptoms for the rest of your life?

I could go on and on here, but I believe you are getting the idea.

Sadly, the medical system seldom seeks to find the cause of the physical symptom that the patient (customer) is experiencing! Medical schools do not teach their graduates to seek the causes of the physical problems their patients are dealing with. Rather they teach that, for every symptom, there is a drug that will relieve the symptom.

Every Physical Problem Has a Cause

Does not seeking the cause of a physical problem make common sense? If the cause of a physical problem can be determined, then, in most instances, all that is necessary to eliminate that physical problem is to eliminate the cause.

But that simple solution would eliminate the need for physicians and drugs.

Proverbs 26:2 tells us…

“So the curse causeless shall not come.”

With the exception of accidents, placing  harmful substances (disguised as food)  into our bodies, drinking sugar-loaded beverages, and failing to exercise the body are the CAUSES of almost every physical problem a person experiences.

Is There a Solution to Our Physical Problems?

The solution is a very simple one: Stop placing harmful foods and drinks into the body, replace the harmful foods and beverages with healthy foods and beverages, and start exercising. Really, it is usually that simple!

Tens of thousands have written to tell me that when they changed to a healthy diet and started exercising, most every physical problem they were experiencing simply went away. You read their testimonies every week in this Hallelujah Health Tip, and you can read thousands more on our website.

Will You Be “Destroyed for Lack of Knowledge?”

Why is it that the only things most preachers and Christians think to do when physical problems arise is “go to the doctor” and “pray”?

Why do they not embrace the healing benefits of God’s original diet as given to us in Genesis 1:29?

Friends, it has everything to do with lack of knowledge. The Bible puts it this way:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”
~ Hosea 4:6

The knowledge they lack is exactly the knowledge Hallelujah Acres has been making available to the Christian community for the past 20 years.

The Jericho Road Leads to Hallelujah Acres

“But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.”

For our modern 2013 parable, I would like to think of Hallelujah Acres and the more than 10,000 Hallelujah Acres Health Ministers around the globe as today’s Good Samaritans. And I think of Hallelujah Acres Lifestyle Centers as being the “inns” to which the Samaritan brought the wounded man he had encountered on the Jericho Road.

And I would like to think of that wounded person, lying along the roadside, as the embodiment of many of the subscribers of this weekly Hallelujah Health Tip. Readers are constantly writing to tell me of their physical problems — problems the medical community has been unable to offer any relief from — and asking my help and advice.

Alas, I am not a medical doctor, nor are most of our Health Ministers, and neither are those who host our Lifestyle Centers. Because we are not medical doctors, laws prevent us from telling anyone they can improve their health through a simple diet and lifestyle change.

But the law can’t prevent us from sharing this true story of success…

How to Transition to The Hallelujah Diet – One Successful Step at a Time

Several years ago, I received and shared a letter from some folks who had written of their personal experience on The Hallelujah Diet, as well as offering some tips they thought might help others who might like to follow in their footsteps. Their suggestions were so powerful that I thought it would do good to share them again.

The letter is from Gary, who lives in North Carolina. At the time Gary wrote to us, he and his wife Caroline had been on The Hallelujah Diet for approximately four months.

Hi Rev. Malkmus:

The purpose of this message is to thank you, on behalf of my wife and me, for giving us the courage and the knowledge to improve our health. We attended your seminar … in September of last year. You were so convincing that at the end of the seminar, I turned to my wife and whispered, ‘I’m going to do this!’

Despite her reservations, Caroline replied, ‘Count me in, too!’ Fortunately, we met a health minister at the seminar who guided us through our brief transition into The Hallelujah Diet. We purchased a Green Star Juicer, immediately began our regimen of BarleyMax and Fiber Cleanse, and the rest is history.

Caroline has lost 15 pounds and cannot go out in public without people telling her how radiant her skin is. I have lost 35 pounds and feel better than I did 30 years ago. Both of us have boundless energy, we think more clearly, and our attitude is much more positive. Neither of us has been sick a day since going on The Hallelujah Diet. But the greatest gift is relief from worry about weight, illness, aches and pains, and other irritations that no longer exist.

Here are a few tips which might help those who want to follow your wonderful Hallelujah Diet:

Step 1: We sat down the day after your seminar and planned our strategy. We talked about the seriousness of the commitment, and we agreed that the transition represented a change in lifestyle, not merely a diet. We admitted our fear about being able to stick with such a radical change in our life (both of us grew up with food and drink as a centerpiece for social interaction). We then agreed to support each other completely, and not to punish ourselves if we ‘slipped’ in the beginning.

Step 2: We drew up a list of 22 ‘harmful substances’ we would be eliminating from our bodies by making the change. That list was placed on our refrigerator as a ‘red flag’ and morale booster.

Step 3: The day after your seminar, we gave away all of the food in our pantry and refrigerator that contained animal products, preservatives, sugar, salt, or other toxins. (We realize this is a radical, as well as expensive step, but we did not want bad temptations around). We ordered distilled water to be delivered to our home. We began juicing and taking the barley powder and Fiber Cleanse.

Step 4: We started reading “God’s Way to Ultimate Healthand similar publications, the day after the seminar, to continue educating ourselves on how to self-manage our transition. We researched the Internet for other helpful information on maintaining good health.

Step 5: We stayed in close contact with our health minister, for help on recipes and for moral support in dealing with withdrawal symptoms. They even invited us to their home to share vital tips on juicing, sprouting, dehydrating, and to share spiritual guidance. Since both of us went ‘cold turkey,’ we experienced headaches, muscle aches, and other mild effects of detoxification. My wife’s symptoms were very mild. On the other hand, my headaches lasted four weeks, and I smelled like a hazardous toxic waste dump for about a week as my body expelled toxins through my skin.

Step 6: We never lost faith that God was on the journey with us. I remember going to church during those early days on the program, when pounds were literally rolling off, and chuckling to myself because I knew how loose my pants were under my jacket!

Step 7: We openly discussed our growing physical and spiritual strength, even as friends and family members questioned our sanity in giving up ‘the good things in life.’ Each time we were challenged we calmly reminded them that instant gratification from addictive foods like sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and salt is a poor substitute for long-term health and happiness.

Step 8: Health and nutrition have become integral parts of our personal growth, as opposed to a passing fancy. We share meal planning and cooking responsibilities, and actually enjoy the challenge of eating well.

Step 9: We have become missionaries to help people regain responsibility for their own health and happiness. We have shared written material and videos with our friends and family. We gave our family members dehydrators and dehydrated fruit for Christmas. And we provide moral support to those who know they should change, but are shackled by years of bad information and bad habits.

Step 10: We remain grateful and humble, realizing that health is the essence of life, and life is a gift from God — a gift that should not be abused or unappreciated.

Thank you for being such a strong, selfless crusader Rev. Malkmus. If there is anything we can do to help promote your ministry, please let us know.
