Menopause Symptom Relief That’s Safe, Proven & Natural

About 6,000 women enter menopause every day. What are the three phases of menopause?

  • Peri-menopause: usually starts several years prior to menopause.
    • Ovaries slowly begin to produce less estrogen, with quicker drops in estrogen levels the last year or two before menopause.
    • Key symptoms: Unpredictable menstrual cycles, more bloating, mood swings, weight gain and hot flashes/night sweats.
  • Menopause: a year since a woman last had her last menstrual period. The average age when a woman hits menopause is 51.
    • The ovaries stop releasing eggs and maximizing estrogen.
    • Key symptoms: Menstruation completely stops, the woman is no longer fertile and the symptoms of peri-menopause persist.
  • Post-menopause: the time after menopause.
    • Major symptoms, such as hot flashes, reduce for many women, but estrogen loss still causes uncomfortable conditions. Also, there are still health risks, such as osteoporosis, heart disease and breast cancer.
    • Key symptoms: sagging skin, vaginal dryness and decreased sexual activity.

What are the most common symptoms of menopause?

Hot flashes are the most well-known symptom of menopause, characterized by unexpected, warm sensations throughout the body, usually the upper areas such as the chest, neck and face. The intensity of hot flashes varies from woman to woman.

Other symptoms include a combination of:

  • Insomnia
  • Mood swings and irritability
  • Fatigue
  • Irregular periods
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Racing heart
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Joint and muscle aches
  • Changes to sex drive
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Bladder issues

So what options are available to alleviate the symptoms of menopause?

Hormone Replacement Therapies (& Their Risks)

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is currently the most familiar medical treatment that combats negative menopausal conditions. In short, HRT uses medications that contain female hormones to replace the hormones lost during menopause.

However, clinical trials have indicated that HRT isn’t the safest bet for women. The largest trial conducted to date found that Prempro, which combines estrogen and progestin, increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, blood clots and breast cancer. The subjects of the trial also reported their hot flashes, insomnia, and other symptoms came back during treatment. Another trial studied the estrogen-only pill Premarin and suggested similar risks in terms of stroke and blood clots.

Another similar medical treatment is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), which is medication that contains hormones molecularly identical in structure to the body’s natural hormones. Unfortunately, there is not much solid evidence that indicates BHRT is safer or more effective than regular HRT. In fact, many establishments, including the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, FDA, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and American Cancer Society, have stated there lacks a sufficient amount of evidence rendering BHRT a safer solution to menopause and, until that evidence comes to fruition, we should assume BHRT is as risky as HRT.

If hormone replacement therapy isn’t the safest option, is there a natural and effective alternative?

      2. If taking hormone replacement therapy or Bio-Identical Hormones it is recommended that you work with your doctor in determining what protocol is right for you.
      3. H.A. Women’s Health is not recommended if you have a history of hormone related cancer unless it is used under the supervision of your doctor.

  3. I took Vitamin B5 (400 mg) and my regular vitamins for my menopause symptoms–it completely removed my hot flashes. It took a few days for the B5 to build up in my system and when I stopped taking it, it took a few days for it to wear off. I shared the taking of B5 with my sister-in-law and it worked for her too.

  4. Just a question. How does Luminology help a 40 year old Lady, who lost both ovaries and womb by surgery,
    as part of the treatment for cervical Cancer? She had total, instantaneous , absolute Acute Menopause followed

    I have been taking Bioidentical hormone replacement for over 3 yrs, and feel completely safe doing that. I am also a Vegan, and eat a whole-food/plant-based diet. I have my labs checked every 6 months @ my doctor’s office. He is an anti-aging specialist, not an OB/Gyn…The amount of hormone I take is less than when I first started, and I believe that is because of the Vegan diet. I also take Vit D and Vit B12 supplements. I would love to take the Health Minister training. Is this part of the training ? (Menopause supplementation, etc.) Please let me know when the next training session is…and thank you for all that you do…My desire is to see everyone in good health-spiritually, emotionally, and physically…

  6. Before breast cancer and treatment, I took 2 tablespoons of cold pressed flaxseed oil in food daily and was hot flash free. It also helped with constipation. After treatment for five years initially with arimidex, I started to have exteme hot flashes every 45 minutes. I switched to tamoxifen and I continue to have them and it has been almost ten years. I take several medications, Effexor and gabapentin which somewhat lessened the symptoms but I still have no days without hot flashes. I am concerned about taking Maca because my breast cancer was estrogen positive. I also do not use any soy products.

  7. Is there a natural way to treat Alzheimer’s Disease and/or prealzheimer’s dementia?

  8. I am 54 years old. I had ovarian cancer when I was 27 and had a complete hysterectomy. I never replaced my hormone therapy for more than 20 years. Now I have severe Osteoporosis. I have broke my back twice most of my ribs. My wrist. I have been on a healthy diet 70% raw and 30% cooked vegan diet for the last 10 years. I am working out doing weight bearing exercise. I do yoga 2 days a week. I just had a bone density test and again my results are worse than last year. I am on Bio identical hormones. Would I benefit from Lumonology as well? Thank you

      Thank you! While you may derive benefit from Luminology, we do not have any studies regarding any impact in the area of bone density. I would encourage anyone with bone density issues to get a copy of Thomas Levy’s book, Death by Calcium and consider appropriate supplementation with vitamin C (preferably both Liposomal C and powdered Vit. C), magnesium and vitamin K. The evidence supporting his suggestions is over-whelmingly positive.

  9. @Breda Lee:
    There is indeed a reason to believe that you may benefit from Vitex as it acts on the brains instead of the ovaries. It may improve your liver’s control of the bioidenticals that you are taking, but it takes about 3 monthe to show results. Make sure that you are restoring your hormone levels to that of a 20 yrs old. Don’t anyone tell you that you need BHRT “appropriate for your age” or you will not see much progress on this front.

    One last thing : bone density tests are irrelevant. Calcium makes bones brittle anyway. If I were you I would ignore these tests but supplement with Vitamin K and D3 and NO calcium. The calcium will only calcify your arteries. There is no evidence it has ever reversed osteoporosis.

    You may need trace minerals such as selenium or molybdenum. You can bathe in pink salt and use it for cooking to provide your body with extra minersls.
