Rev. George & Rhonda Malkmus Move To Florida

On Saturday, November 17, the moving vans backed up in front of our home in Shelby, North Carolina to load up our household furnishings.

Destination?  St. Augustine, Florida.

With Hallelujah Acres leaving Shelby and moving to Gastonia in December, we have decided to sell our home here in Shelby and move our household belongings and ourselves to Florida.

At the time of my 77th birthday on February 12, 2011 — after nearly two decades of not taking a break for a vacation since Hallelujah Acres had its beginning on February 12, 1992 — I told Rhonda that we were going to begin planning for and taking steps to slow down…to smell the roses.

The hardest part of leaving the Shelby home is the edible landscape, comprised of 47 blueberry-bearing bushes, 6 grapevines, 5 thornless blackberry bushes, 2 apple trees, a pear tree, a peach tree, a persimmon tree, 2 fig trees, and a cherry tree, plus 3 gorgeous raised bed vegetable gardens.

In just a few short months I will, Lord willing, celebrate my 79th birthday. Plans for next year (2013), are to continue my first-Saturday-of-the-month seminars in various cities throughout the southeastern U.S., along with participating in Health Minister Trainings.

I will also continue the publishing of my weekly electronic Health Tip, as well as being available for special events at Hallelujah Acres in Gastonia as they arise.

Though Rhonda and I are attempting to slow down, we are not leaving Hallelujah Acres without leadership or personally abandoning it. I will remain an active member of Hallelujah Acres’ Board of Directors and plan to stay fully involved in the direction of Hallelujah Acres. Internet and phone communication with Hallelujah Acres will continue to take place almost daily.

To carry on the ministry, we have a strong staff of approximately 50 loyal and dedicated employees, along with a strong leadership team headed by my son Paul who has been with me the past 15 years. I appreciate your prayers for both Rhonda and myself as we attempt to slow down and smell the roses, and for Hallelujah Acres as it continues to spread God’s Health Message across America and around the world.

God is GOOD!

  6. Wow. St. Augustine is my old neck of the woods and we have transplanted to NC to continue our ministry. I’m sure our paths will cross again someday as we are still devoted Health Ministers and have family in the area.

Blessings to you as you settle into your new “relaxed”? lifestyle.

Congratulations George and Rhonda. Hard to believe it has been more than 15 years since I attended Health Minister training in early 1998. I’m only a couple of years behind you in age so fully appreciate your calling to slow down. God bless you in this new season of life.

    Love you both,

    Dale Rodolff

  10. I’m so sorry to hear you are leaving a huge garden of health where it would be ideal to retire. My prayer is to retire to a place like you are leaving, certainly not to hurricane and electrical stormed Florida. There must be much more to your leaving than what you have shared. God bless you both.

Welcome to Florida!! St Augustine is a wonderful place to live. I’m sure you will find that all the berries and veggies and flowers you had on your property in Shelby will grow quickly for you in St. Augustine. God Bless you and Ms Rhonda.

  12. May your “retirement” be blessed by God! I first heard the Hallelujah Diet message in 1996. Although I am not a purist, I feel that the principles of healthy living that I learned from Hallelujah Acres, and the use of Barley Max, Udo’s Oil and such in my mostly vegetarian diet are largely responsible for the health I enjoy today in my 70s. I have always been grateful to our son and daughter-in-law for introducing us to your ministry. Thank you for what you have meant in my life, George and Rhonda.

  13. I would love to meet you
If you ever do anything in St. Augustine please put me on your mailing list. I live in Jacksonville.y Mom got your book and went by it quite a bit. She was 92 when she passed in 2012. Your book is wonderful. God bless you. Hope you are enjoying Florida.

George, it is nice to slow down, sometimes, rest,
and then, renew your efforts to help people be healed of cancer. In 2001,when I was diagnosed with 2 different cancers at the same time—breast and colon–( colon had not spread–PTL–I had two surgeries 6 weeks apart and then started chemo for the breast. We also ordered your books and bought a juicer and followed what it said to do. We also prayed a lot….friends, also. Enemies, too, if I had any.
There are still a lot of people getting cancer every year. Take a break but “keep telling people about THE DIET.
You are going to live for MANY more years.
God has told me my husband and I will be the oldest people alive when we die. That number is close to 150 now. I have a feeling that you and Rhonda will be right there with us. We are 75 now and getting ready to start a new business of restoring old houses and buildings–my passion. Some we will sell and some we will give away. Sounds like fun, but tiring. God bless you and Rhonda
