It’s National Health Education Week! Sponsored by the Society for Public Health Education, this week is all about promoting “consumers' understanding of the role of health education in promoting the public's health.” In this spirit, we too want to shine a spotlight on how important it is to educate, inform, engage and elucidate. Health education is one of the instruments we use to strive for disease prevention and management, overall wellness and vibrant health for each and every person. Health is the foundation in which we build our lives. With great health, we’re able to aspire towards our dreams with full energy, optimistically strengthen our relationships, humbly serve others and much, much more. But the unfortunate truth is, many of us have still not reached our potential for full health. Our bodies are constantly accumulating toxins from processed, unnatural food choices and ravaged by a host of environmental aggressors whether it’s pollution, chemicals in our cookware or cigarette smoke. At the same time, we are not fully replenishing ourselves with the complete spectrum of nutrients we need to thrive. So how can we achieve optimal health?
“If you’re seeking to live a more vibrant and healthy lifestyle, we recommend that you include living plant-based foods, natural supplements, stress management, exercise and rest.” – Michael Donaldson, PhD, Cornell University
By simultaneously addressing both nutritional deficiency and toxicity, you can get started on a fascinating lifelong journey toward optimal health. To start, take stock of what you put inside your body. Focus on eating mainly raw vegetables, followed by cooked vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts. What are the benefits of eating raw vegetables? Raw vegetables flood your body with vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytochemicals for your cells to feed on. For example, uncooked broccoli contains myrosinase, an enzyme with cancer-preventative properties, while cooked broccoli contains three times less of the enzyme. In addition to the disease-fighting benefits, raw vegetables—eating food with their “life energy” intact—gives you an indescribable surge of energy and mental clarity. (You need to try it for yourself to believe it!) On the flip side, cooking vegetables, especially at a heat of over 118 degrees Fahrenheit, is known to destroy many essential nutrients, such as vitamins B and C. Heat also destroys plant enzymes, which your body needs to properly break down the nutrients. Although your body does produce its own digestive enzymes, it needs additional support to fully absorb all the beneficial nutrients. One important thing to keep in mind, though, is that certain nutrients, such as lycopene found in tomatoes, are more potent when they’re lightly cooked. How much of your diet should be raw vegetables? Aim for 85% of your daily food consumption to be raw, fresh vegetables and 15% cooked foods and fruits. The raw foods contain living enzymes and nutrients that contribute to superior health, while the cooked foods will contain additional vitamins and minerals that are available only from cooking. Eliminate all animal fats and minimize fats and sugars. How can you jumpstart detoxification and renewal to reap the benefits of a mostly raw, plant-based diet? The Hallelujah Diet® System is the fastest, most convenient, comfortable and effective way to achieve healthy weight-loss management, boost energy, hinder the visible signs of aging, strengthen your immune system, help support your body in maintaining healthy blood sugar levels and restore your health. More than just a diet, The Hallelujah Diet® System helps build your ideal plan by combining a plant-based diet with vitamins and supplements to increase nutrients and reduce toxins. Whether you’re on a raw, plant-based diet or a Standard American Diet, make sure you supplement your food consumption with nutrients that are known to be deficient in the majority of Americans. These include: protein, calcium, iron, iodine, and vitamin B-12. Read on to learn more about a few of the essential supplements to get started. Professional Strength Probiotics The digestive system carries 500 types of bacteria that help maintain the health of intestines, assist in digestion and possibly even strengthen the immune system. A mounting amount of scientific research indicates live bacteria, or probiotics, can treat or prevent illnesses. However, with most available probiotics, the beneficial bacteria is destroyed by the stomach’s gastric acid, rendering the supplement less effective. Hallelujah Diet® Probiotics deliver up to 60% of its bacteria all the way to your colon. Once it’s past the stomach, the timed-release caplet slowly dissolves through the entire digestive tract, ensuring a significant number of probiotics are released throughout the entire GI tract, including the colon where probiotics do their best work.
Digestive Enzymes You can eat the healthiest diet in the world, but if your body has trouble breaking down and absorbing the nutrients into your bloodstream, you’re not going to reap the benefits. Hallelujah Diet® Digestive Enzymes helps your body break down and absorb nutrients to ensure you get maximum nutrition and disease protection from your food.Hallelujah Diet® Digestive Enzymes are specifically formulated to digest foods on the Hallelujah Diet. While it is true that all raw foods contain their own enzymes to help them auto-digest, studies show that supplementing a mostly raw, plant-based diet with a digestive enzyme supplement helps to further alleviate digestive stress on the body. And if you eat cooked or processed, it’s even more important to take a supplement of living enzymes, as all enzymes in these foods have been destroyed by heat and/or processing.
Liposomal Vitamin C Hallelujah Diet Liposomal Vitamin C is the most absorbable, powerful form of vitamin C available, and provides excellent cardiovascular and immune system support, helps prevent free-radical damage and promotes healthy aging. What’s unique about Liposomal Vitamin C is that it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream as a vesicle of fat without going through the digestive process. Furthermore, they are absorbed into cells (like white blood cells that use vitamin C to fight infections) and organs of our bodies without the use of energy.
Vitamin B-12, B6 & Folate Vegans and vegetarians are typically low in vitamin B-12, as it’s not found in plant foods, but even meat eaters are low as well. A 2000 article in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition revealed that 39% of individuals tested had low-to-normal levels of B-12 in their blood, and 17% had levels low enough to cause symptoms of deficiency. The Hallelujah Diet Vitamin B-12, B6 & Folate supplement contains methylcobalamin, a form of B-12 that is active in the body immediately upon absorption. B-12 is important for many functions, including maintaining healthy nerve cells and red blood cells, creating DNA, aiding in proper digestion, helping metabolize carbohydrates and fats and aiding in cellular development. Folate is critical for pregnant women since it plays a vital role in the healthy development of the fetus and supports a healthy heart. B6 is involved in more bodily functions than almost any other single nutrient, affecting both physical and mental health.
Only The Hallelujah Diet® is designed to address nutritional deficiency and detoxify the body simultaneously, providing the most efficient and effective way to support the body's self-healing ability. The Hallelujah Diet® System provides a full-body detox while supercharging your cells with superior all-natural nutrition. Want more health education?
