Ah, My Friends... There's "Good News" Tonight!

On December 7, 1941, some 73 years ago, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and the United States was thrust into World War II. I was seven years old at the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and 11 years old when the war ended in 1945. I remember those war years vividly. Almost every evening during the war, my dad and I would listen to the war news of the day with our ears glued to the radio (television hadn’t been invented yet), listening to a news commentator by the name of Gabriel Heatter, who would introduce his evening newscast with the words: “Ah, my friends – THERE’S ‘GOOD NEWS’ TONIGHT.”

Good News to Share

Those war years were very difficult years for our country, yet Gabriel Heater always seemed to find something positive to begin his nightly newscast with. Quite different from the avalanche of negative news we are bombarded with on our televisions each and every day on a regular basis.

Today, we are constantly being told how terrible things are, especially with regard to the health of our nation and the health of the American people, and how great the need is for Health Insurance and National Health Care for all citizens. But friend, this is not the solution to the physical ills of our nation’s people! Rather, National Health Care, in spite of all its promises to lower costs and improve health, will not improve the health of the American people one iota but will rather make the health of our people even worse and health care more expensive. Ah, my friends! But let me tell you that there is some “GOOD NEWS” concerning your health and the health of the people of our great land! And that good news is that "you don't have to be sick!" The source of that “good news” is God, and He has communicated that good news to us in the Bible.

The Bible Is The All-Time Best Seller

The Bible is the best-selling book in the world, with over 6.5 billion copies having been printed through the ages, and it has been translated into almost every language of the world – currently over 2,000 languages. In most countries, the Bible is readily available, while in America, it can be found in most every home and motel room.

Where Did The Bible Come From... and Why Should I Believe It?

I am going to use the Bible as my source for the “GOOD NEWS” contained in this article. And if I am going to do that, I must first establish a few things pertaining to the Bible, such as it authorship and authenticity. So, let me begin by my making a statement: “I believe the Bible, all 66 books, comprising all 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament, to not only be the Word of God, but that it was actually authored by God!” My friends, this is the only book ever written, that claims God as the Author. Following is the claim the Bible makes in II Timothy 3:16-17:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
You ask, “How could God write a book?" And I am so glad you asked. Because the Bible answers that very question in II Peter 1:21 with these words:
“For the prophecy (scriptures, Bible) came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake (wrote) as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

Clearly, the claim of the Bible is that it not only came from God, but was literally inspired and written by God, using human instrumentality to pen the words. Moses penned the first five books of the Bible, while John penned 4 of the last five books of the New Testament, 1, 2 & 3 John and Revelation. And in between, God used numerous others to pen the other books of the Bible. The original text of the Bible was written in basically three languages: Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. And though we do not have the original manuscripts today, these writings were painstakingly copied and preserved through the centuries, and current versions have been verified as being accurate by such findings as the Dead Sea scrolls and other ancient manuscripts that have been uncovered.

Personal Testimony from Rev. George Malkmus

My first personal copy of the Bible was given me by my church following baptism at about the age of 12. Sadly I did not know the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the time, because the church in which I was raised, preached a "social gospel" rather than a Salvation Gospel through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. In the church of my childhood we were led to believe that all that was necessary to go to heaven was baptism, church membership, and good works. And though I had a Bible, and did try and read it from time to time, I just couldn’t seem to understand it. However, at a Billy Graham crusade rally in Madison Square Garden, New York City, on May 29th 1957, I learned for the first time in my life that I was a sinner and in need of a Saviour. That night I asked Jesus to come into my heart, forgive me for my sins, and I became what the Bible refers to as “born again.” I was born physically on February 12, 1934 into the Malkmus family, but on May 29, 1957, I was born spiritually into the family of God. This spiritual birth is so important that Jesus said in John 3:3:

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven.”
(See more in John 3:1-7.) Following that “born again experience,” I started to read the Bible daily, and now with the help of God’s Holy Spirit, (see John 16:13) I could at last understand the Bible. Soon after this born-again experience, God called me to preach, and in preparation for the ministry I went off to Bible college for four years where the Bible became my textbook. Following my preparation for the ministry I pastored various churches for many years and during that time not only was I reading the Bible through each year in my daily devotions, but I also prepared and delivered some 5,000 Bible-based sermons. So after all these years of reading, studying, and preaching the Bible, one would think I should have had a pretty good handle on the Bible and known just about everything contained within. But in 1976, while pastoring a church in upstate New York, after almost 20 years of reading and studying and preaching the Bible, I was introduced to a verse in the Bible I had never paid much attention to – that is, until being told I had colon cancer. Not wanting to go the medical route with my cancer because of my mother’s horrible experience going the medical route following her diagnosis of colon cancer before me, I went looking for an alternative way of dealing with my cancer. (At mother’s death I felt it was the treatments that caused her death rather than the cancer itself.) It was then that I turned to an evangelist in Texas by the name of Lester Roloff for help. He discouraged me from going the medical route with my cancer, and rather encouraged me to adopt the diet God gave Adam, in the Garden of Eden, immediately after creating him. Yes, Brother Roloff directed me to a verse in the Bible, which contained the Original diet God had given Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, a verse I had read many times before but never previously paid much attention to. That verse is found in Genesis 1:29:
“And God said, behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed (vegetable) which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed. To you it shall be for food.”

This verse, which Brother Roloff brought to my attention in 1976, is the reason for this article! I had read this verse hundreds of times before, but it had never registered that this verse contained instructions from God on how to nourish my physical body. These instructions were not meant exclusively for Adam and Eve, but also for me, and yes all humanity, both Christians and non-Christians, as long as man walked on this earth. How could I have read this verse so many, many times before, and it not register? Perhaps it was because I had been so programmed by what mom and dad ate, what the society around me ate, by advertising, and by what everyone else both in and outside the church ate. Overnight, at the age of 42, at the advice of Evangelist Roloff, I adopted God’s original, Genesis 1:29 diet, along with consuming an abundance of raw vegetable juices, which Brother Roloff also recommended. Soon my cancer was gone and without any medical intervention. I have now been on God’s original, Genesis 1:29 diet with lots of freshly extracted vegetable juices for almost 40 years. As I write this, I still have a sound body and mind, while experiencing unbelievable health and energy as I approach my 81st birthday.

I have said all you have read up to this point, to say again: Ah, There's Good News Tonight!

During the many years of pastoring various churches, I was well respected by pastor friends and fellow Christians, but when I started sharing the Genesis 1:29 diet with other Christians, my popularity started to diminish rapidly. To many, I had, as the saying goes: “Done stopped preaching and started meddling”. So, as long as I stuck with those Bible teachings that everyone was familiar with and agreed with, I was popular. But once I started trying to share with fellow pastors, and other Christians, God’s original Genesis 1:29 diet, I became almost an instant outcast.

Friends, we live in a society that consumes primarily foods that can only be found “OUTSIDE” of God’s Genesis 1:29 diet, especially animal-sourced foods. Now let’s remember that God told man in Genesis 1:29 that we were to consume only those foods found “INSIDE the garden – plant-sourced foods. And let’s remember also that this garden diet was the exclusive diet of mankind from the time God created that first human (Adam) in Genesis 2:7 until God for the very first time some 1,700 years later gave man permission to consume the flesh of the clean animals on the ark after the flood in Genesis 9:3, after all plant foods had been destroyed by flood waters. (See Genesis 7:19 & 24.) Sadly, once man got the taste of animal flesh he was hooked, and couldn’t get enough flesh food. You will not find the word “glutton” or “gluttony” in the Bible prior to the time man started consuming flesh foods. Then when God was bringing the children of Israel out of Egypt, what did they long for – was it not “FLESH?”

"Would to God we had died by the and of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots." ~ Exodus 16:3

During the 40 years of wilderness wandering, when God was the dietitian and serving them manna, a garden food, they were not happy with God’s provision! And what did they long for? "Who will give us flesh to eat?" (Numbers 11:18) And God gave them flesh in the form of quail, and they got sick. Then the Bible says: “And while the flesh was yet between their teeth... the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.” (Numbers 11:33) Today, the single most dangerous and destructive food one can place in their mouth is the flesh and the milk of some animal. Human babies were designed by God to consume only the milk of the human mother who bore them, and after weaning, their anatomy was designed by God to handle efficiently only those foods found in the garden diet, as God outlined so clearly in Genesis 1:29.

Animal-sourced foods are the cause of the majority of the physical problems being experienced today as I have clearly revealed in numerous previous Health Tips, yet Christians will try to use every verse in the Bible they can find in an attempt to justify their continued consumption of animal-sourced foods. Sadly, for many believers in the God of the Bible, their stomach has become their god, and they will defend their diet (especially the consumption of animal-sourced foods) to their own detriment and even an early and untimely death!

I find it so amazing that in the Old Testament of the Bible, there is a verse found in Genesis 1:29 that tells us we should only eat plant-sourced foods. Yet people will go home or to a restaurant from church or synagogue and eat a hot dog (yes, even kosher hot dogs are harmful) or some southern fried chicken and think nothing of it. Indeed, to my Jewish friends, just because an animal source food is “kosher”, will not protect you from its devastating consequences within your body. Yes, Genesis 1:29 is “the good news concerning our health!” So for the sake of our health and that of our families, won’t you bring Genesis 1:29 out of hiding, wipe the dust from it, and start consuming those foods God told mankind to eat in Genesis 1:29? Our health and longevity, as well as that of our families depends on it!

“Beloved, I wish above all things that you mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." ~ III John 2

God’s original, Genesis 1:29 diet contains not only the diet that God created our physical bodies to be nourished with, but it is also the very diet that will allow us to literally disease-proof and cancer-proof ourselves! Each of us has a choice... We can choose to continue eating animal sourced foods and other foods found outside God’s Original Genesis 1:29 diet, and experience the physical breakdowns they produce. Or we can choose to go back (the Hebrew word for "repentance" means "to go back") to the garden for our food source, and experience the ultimate health God designed our body to thrive on. As for me and my house, we are going to continue eating exclusively Genesis 1:29 garden foods and continue enjoying the health benefits they provide! And by the way, garden foods are the answer to the health crisis in our nation. National Health Care is incapable of restoring “health” to our nation’s people, but God’s Genesis 1:29 diet can! Yes my friend, "there's good news tonight" as Gabriel Heatter used to say so many years ago.
