Q: How did you come about creating a plant-based version of a BLT?
small-quoteI once had tofu bacon at restaurant and it got me thinking about making a vegan BLT. I’ve never been a fan of bacon myself but a lot of people love it, which is why I wanted to create a healthy yet delicious alternative.I thought it would be fun with Portobello, which makes it super easy to make.

Q: What are some things we can do with the Portobello Sandwich to spice things up a bit?
small-quote If you’re literally looking to add spice, add chipotle sauce or sriracha to the Vegenaise. You can also add more nutrients and texture by adding your favorite topping, like a grilled eggplant, roasted red peppers or sprouts. Get creative!

Q: What else goes well with the Portobello Sandwich?
small-quote Definitely a clean, crisp salad or kale chips. If you want something to drink, create a simple lemonade by adding a few drops of liquid stevia, crushed mint and a splash of lemon to ice water. It’s so refreshing!

    What temp do you dehydrate the kale chips? If I use 115 or less they don’t get crisp Zander if I go higher it kills the enzymes???

      Thank you! I think it depends on your dehydrator. We do dehydrate our kale chips at 115.
