The Hallelujah Diet’s Impact on Autoimmune Disorders

What happens when the defense system is compromised?

The immune system has the important role of keeping the body in top shape against foreign invaders. But what happens when the defense system is compromised?

According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, more than 80 diseases develop when the immune system attacks the body's organs, tissues and cells. Type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease are some of the more common autoimmune diseases and disorders.

How Does the Immune System Work?
According to what Rev. Malkmus shared in his book "The Hallelujah Diet: Experience the Optimal Health You Were Meant to Have," the immune system produces proteins – also known as antibodies – that attack germs. It also produces T lymphocytes, special blood cells that recognize foreign tissues and put up a defense wall so they can't harm the body. When the immune system is running as it should, it can properly distinguish the normal tissues from the unfamiliar ones, and get rid of the latter. Unfortunately, when someone is living with an autoimmune disorder, the immune system can't tell between the two, and therefore, it malfunctions.

Don't turn to doctors for medication - turn to your garden for plant-based foods.Don't turn to doctors for medication – turn to your garden for wholesome sustenance.

How a Plant-Based Diet Can Contribute
Although it's tough to identify the underlying cause of autoimmune deficiency, we at Hallelujah Acres believe that following a raw, plant-based diet can make a positive impact on those living with autoimmune diseases and disorders. We've received multiple testimonies on how the Hallelujah Diet lifestyle has made a difference in the lives of those living with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis and more.

"I'm happy to report that here at Hallelujah Acres we've had success with many of the autoimmune diseases," wrote Rev. Malkmus. "They seem to respond favorably to the living foods that God intended for us."

Because 60 to 80 percent of our immune system is located in the gut, prioritizing digestion is key for strengthening the defense system and reducing the chance that it becomes compromised. Following a raw, plant-based diet that's loaded with enzymatically rich fruits and vegetables will keep gut health in check. It's all about fueling your body with the foods from the earth as God intended – with His basic nutritional building blocks, your immune system will run smoothly and you'll be able to self-heal, just as He planned.

With the proper diet and supplements, your body can heal and restore itself and prevent diseases from developing in the future. Trust in His guidance on your path to optimal health.

I’m presently experiencing weaknesses which i can’t say where it comes, I have done various tests like liver function, that of kidney and others yet nothing seems to be wrong but as a follower of your diets though I stopped for some time due to the high cost of your products but decide to start a 21 day detoxification with green vegetables, carrot, lettuce , cucumber, juiced and unjuiced plus two of your products :Barley Max and Fiber Cleanse. Is there any other thing to add?

      Hi Fidelis,
The Hallelujah Diet is a concept of keeping out junk foods and toxins and pouring in nutrition. Juicing truly is one of the most powerful things one can do. (And we continually here terrific comments on BarleyMax.) Celery and Cucumber make a great base for freshly extracted juices and then add from there. I really enjoy adding parsley and cilantro.
As far as supplements go, there are so many great ones. One that seems to really give me energy is the Selenium/Glutathione promoter. Glutathione is referred to as the master antioxidant of the cell, because it is present in large quantities and is able to regenerate other antioxidants. Glutathione is also a key molecule for detoxification in the liver, and plays a role countering inflammation in the body. The blend of items in the Selenium/Glutathione promoter is designed to boost your immune system defenses to stimulate the increased production of glutathione in the body.
I hope whatever path you choose you find the vibrancy you desire. Doctors are good at diagnostic tests so it may be a good idea to keep a good doctor in the loop, especially if you choose to do any fasting. To me, discovering that so much of our immune system lies in our intestinal tract is one of the things that surprised me the most when I was learning about the Hallelujah Diet and it’s benefits. Probiotics, digestive enzymes, and proper diet can make all the difference in the world!
