Don't Feed the Cancer Cells!

Don't Feed the Cancer Cells!

When you visit the zoo, you often see signs that warn people against feeding the animals. In the same way, there should also be health warnings about feeding cancer cells. Whether you are healing from cancer or focusing on cancer prevention, it is important that you learn more about the types of foods that feed cancer cells. Once you understand these nutritional principles, you can make changes in your dietary habits in order to starve the cancer cells and improve your overall health. There are two substances that cancer cells feed on: fat and sugar.

Starve Cancer Cells of Sugar

When sugar is present, the cancer cells are able to increase through rapid reproduction and fast growth, causing the cancer to spread throughout the body. So, it is important to reduce the amount of sugar that is being consumed in your diet. Keep in mind that cancer cells are non-discriminating about the types of sugar that you are consuming. So, even natural sugar in fruit can feed the cancer cells. For this reason, it is best for a person to avoid fruit when they are fighting cancer. Certain types of fruits are high in antioxidants and low in sugar, and it is ok to eat those fruits in moderation. It is also critical that every person avoids common sources of sugar or ingredients that will break down into sugar, including table sugar, syrup, molasses, honey, and other types of refined carbohydrates such as white flour, white potatoes, white rice, and processed foods. When you decrease the amount of sugar that you are consuming, then you can weaken the cancer cells because they are starved of the nutrition that they need. Then, the immune system is able to step in and naturally remove those weakened cancer cells from the body.

Don’t Fuel Cancer Cells with Fat

Another source of fuel for cancer cells is fat, and it is possible to feed the cancer cells even if you are consuming healthy fats. Your body needs a little bit of fat for optimal health and wellness, but you should limit the amount of fat that you are consuming to avoid feeding the cancer cells. Healthy fats include ¼ of an avocado, 1 teaspoon of high quality fish oil, 2 teaspoons of flax oil, or ground flaxseed. You can find recipes that incorporate these principles of low sugar and healthy fat consumption in the Unravel the Mystery Recipe Book. Also, you should read Unravel the Mystery, by Ann Malkmus, where you will learn more about the ways that your dietary and lifestyle choices are impacting your risk of cancer.
