When's the best time to take control of your life and follow a plant-based diet? Today!

Here are a few reasons to stop making excuses and start your diet right now:

1. Reduced Risk of Chronic Conditions
Relying on processed foods to fuel your body is counterintuitive. Not only does it provide zero nutritional benefit, but it also increases your risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, stroke and more, according to the American Heart Association. Making healthy, wholesome choices reduces your chance of developing chronic conditions substantially.

2. Weight Loss
While improving your eating habits shouldn't only be about losing weight, it's a significant reason to go on a diet. Being overweight is linked to numerous health risks, such as the ones stated previously, as well as Type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, liver disease, kidney disease, pregnancy complications and certain cancers, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

3. Increased Energy
A wholesome, balanced plant-based diet is loaded with essential vitamins and minerals that fuel your body properly and give you the energy you need to get through the day. Soda, sugary coffee and energy drinks – most commonly and wrongfully associated with increased energy – will give you a quick buzz, but end in a crash later on. Eliminate these beverages and rely on water, fresh juice and smoothies for a pick-me-up.

4. Improved Confidence
How do you feel after eating a greasy burger and pile of fries? You're likely bloated, uncomfortable and regretful. Exchange that unhealthy meal for something more substantial, like a salad made of a bed of leafy greens and fresh chopped onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and radishes. Not only will you start to feel better about what you're putting in your body, but you'll look better too.

5. Overall Longevity
Living your life to its fullest is all about treating your body right, both physically and mentally. By making the move to a primarily raw, plant-based lifestyle, you'll improve your mood, appearance, immune system and more, ultimately promoting longevity. Now's the time to kick those bad habits to the curb and start living your life the way God intended for you.

I did eat only plant based food and was losing weight that I don’t want to lose. I’m not fat and not skinny so I’m happy with my present weight. I stopped and added more grass fed chicken and I love salmon plus I added some whole grain pasta and gained back 3 lbs and now this is the weight I want to keep.
