The truth about vitamin D deficiency

Contrary to popular belief, vitamin D does not increase your risk of skin cancer. In fact, your body needs this vitamin to maintain strong, healthy bones, to fight infection and promote overall health, according to the Vitamin D Council. This vitamin, created organically by the body when exposed to sunlight, is also essential for the proper functioning of the heart, lungs, brain and muscles.

The truth about vitamin D
The truth is that the majority of people living in the Western world do not get enough natural sun on their skin for their body to produce the vitamin D that their body requires, noted the Vitamin D Council. There are several reasons for this, most notably the years of media campaigns and dermatologists urging people to avoid tanning and to always wear sunscreen. Additionally, the days of people working on the land and spending long hours outdoors are gone.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” (Psalm 84:11)

As Hallelujah Acres explains, God did not create foods rich in vitamin D because He intended that our bodies would be properly nourished with this vitamin through the natural sunlight. During the time of Adam and Eve, it was a given that each day would be spent soaking up the sun.

Vitamin D deficiency
Now that man is no longer outdoors for most of the day, the bodies that God created in His image and likeness are lacking this crucial element. Even the National Institutes of Health reported that a majority of Americans are vitamin D deficient, and “almost no one has levels that are too high.”

The deficiency has been known to cause osteomalacia in adults, which leads to weakness in the muscles and bone pain. A very rare condition that can develop in children is rickets, when the bones become weak and bend. These causes are a direct result of the lack of vitamin D, which aids the body in obtaining calcium from supplements and food sources.

For those who feel as though they may be lacking in giving their body natural sunlight, the good news is that you can also get some of the vitamin D you need through supplements in two different forms: D2 ergocalciferol and D3 cholecalciferol, both of which increase the amount of this vitamin present in the bloodstream, according to the NIH. The Hallelujah Diet supplement Vitamin D3 with K2 is a synergistic combination that helps support the body and many of its functions. Increasing the absorption of calcium, the D3 works to aid the metabolism of calcium within the body and support bone health and cardiovascular function.

Vitamin D supplementation is crucial in today’s world since there is almost no safe way to get what we need from the sun. While getting sunshine is still important for so many reasons, many people are deficient in Vitamin D and need additional support from supplements. Hallelujah Diet’s D3-K2 is a wonderful source that not only helps with the body’s absorption of calcium, but also helps the body to distribute that calcium to the proper areas in our body.

Yes. This. Especially now with CORVID-19 going around, we’re all indoors. I love D and take as much D as I can and it’s really helped me. I mean, not too much D, my doctor warned me about taking too much D, too. I’m much happier with a lot of D. Thank you for improving everyone’s health in this web site, you’re doing great work. This is more of a Biblical question, but do you think that after the great flood (Noah’s time) the atmosphere changed and our ability to get D changed? I’ve always thought that, and that Noah was told to eat meat which lowered our lifespan and now we don’t live to be 900 years old like before the flood. Something to ponder. I think following your Biblical diet is the best way to fix some of that, but I worry about taking D in the sunshine because maybe our ozone layer is depleted? anyway so glad I found your site the diet is the best way to live.
