The Many Ways a Bowel Cleanse Can Help Restore Bowel Function

#1 Relief from Constipation

Most Americans don’t meet daily fiber recommendations, which puts them at risk of constipation, belly bloat, and unwanted weight gain. Adult men and women should aim for at least 25 to 30 grams of fiber daily, but many Americans average about 15 grams of fiber per day. Lack of dietary fiber can leave you feeling constipated and in pain, but fiber cleanse may ease your discomfort.

#2 Healthy Weight Management

The fiber in bowel cleanse powder helps you achieve or maintain a healthy weight, as fiber fills you up but your body doesn’t digest or absorb fiber calories. If you’re struggling with your weight or you feel hungry all the time, consider bowel cleanse powder rich in fiber-rich psyllium and flax seeds. Achieving a healthy body weight lowers your risk of numerous chronic health conditions, including digestive and other forms of cancer.

#3 Enhanced Detoxification

Along with the help of your kidneys and liver, your colon eliminates toxins from your body. These toxins can get into your digestive tract through foods, dirty air, or other environmental factors. Bowel cleanses enhance optimal bowel function to ensure timely toxin elimination from your body, so you can look and feel your best.

#4 A Cleaner, Healthier Colon

Undigested fatty foods, chemicals, and dirt from processed foods, and ingesting impure drinking water can take a toll on your digestive health. Lingering toxins and waste within your colon can negatively impact your brain, nervous system, lymphatic system, and blood—and clog veins, arteries, and other important structures and body systems. Colon cleansing helps you achieve and maintain a healthier, cleaner colon.

#5 More Normal Bowel Movements

Whether you suffer from constipation, diarrhea, or irregular bowel movements, a fiber-rich bowel cleanse can help. The fiber in colon cleanse powder helps increase the size and weight of your stool, keeps it at a soft consistency, makes bulky stools easier to pass, and helps solidify loose, watery stools. It also boosts your chance of normal, more regular bowel movements that happen an average of about one time per day in many adults. Though an optimal number is 2 to 3 times daily.

#6 Lower Cholesterol

Soluble fiber in colon cleanse supplements helps lower your risk of high cholesterol and may help reduce high blood cholesterol, according to the University of California San Francisco. Ask your doctor about fiber supplementation in addition to eating a high-fiber diet rich in fruits and vegetables, to lower blood cholesterol naturally without the need for medications.

#7 Better Emotional Health

Believe it or not, your brain and digestive tract, or your gut, are closely connected. Psychological conditions like stress, depression, and anxiety can trigger unpleasant symptoms within your gut as your GI tract is sensitive to emotions. On the other hand, Harvard Health Publishing suggests that your intestines also send signals to your brain, and intestinal distress can lead to anxiety, stress, and depression.

#8 Better Blood Sugar Control

Fiber, especially from flaxseeds found in the Hallelujah Diet fiber cleanse powder, is associated with better blood sugar control—specifically in people with diabetes. Mayo Clinic suggests that insoluble fiber may lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

#9 Fewer Harmful Parasites

Just as probiotics, or good bacteria, live within your digestive tract, harmful bacteria can linger in your colon as well. Fiber cleans powder contains herbs that regulate your bowel and expel harmful parasites that cause intestinal discomfort.

#10 Less Belly Pain and Bloating

You might experience relief from belly pain and bloating due to constipation after finishing a bowel cleanse treatment. Once built-up fecal material is excreted after a colon cleanse, you may look and feel better and notice a slimmer, trimmer midsection as a result.

How to Safely Complete a Bowel Cleanse

Use fiber cleanse as directed during the first two or three months of the Hallelujah Diet, as a bowel cleanse isn’t recommended for constant long-term use. Be sure to drink lots of water when taking fiber-rich colon cleanse supplements. After two to three months (or sooner if optimal bowel function is achieved), switch to ground flax seed supplements or B-Flax-D, which are better suited for long-term use, so you can continuously reap fiber’s GI health benefits.

  1. Do you have any studies that show a colon cleanse doesn’t also clean out the good bacteria in your gut?

    • Melody Hord February 18, 2019

Per Olin Idol, ND, Vice President of Health for Hallelujah Diet: “We have no specific studies on this. The fiber rich cleanse should act as a prebiotic and feed the friendly flora, encouraging greater colonization. While it is normal to find both friendly and potentially pathogenic bacteria in a stool, the addition of the good fiber should not encourage loss of friendly flora.”
