Can a Digestive Enzyme really make such a big difference?

A couple of years ago while we were in Nigeria, the couple we were with were discussing how challenging it was to eat.  Bloating, gas, discomfort, all those same symptoms that we have heard before.  We suggested they begin supplementing with digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid (HCL).  It took less than two weeks before they were raving about how their discomfort was gone and they were feeling so much better!

A few years ago my elderly mother would tell me how difficult it was for her to eat a meal after 5:00 pm.  Her indigestion and fullness would be with her throughout the rest of the night. Instead of going with an over the counter option, I suggested she use digestive enzymes if she had to eat later.  I received a phone call several weeks later telling me those “magic pills” were great and she asked for more!

Sometimes the simplest things in life can be the most effective.

When the digestive tract doesn’t have what it needs to properly digest the foods being consumed then discomfort can occur. By supplementing with digestive enzymes and HCL the digestive system is able to start functioning properly again and symptoms of indigestion simply vanish.

Years ago, after I healed myself from Fibromyalgia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), I was feeling pretty good about what I had done so I stopped taking the digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid.  Sadly, it wasn’t many days before I began to feel the bloating, gas, even aches and pains return.  Amazingly, those wonderful digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid seem to be the key for me to keep my body humming and tuned up.

With the number of people walking around who have to take Tums, Rolaids and whatever else is out there, and with the number of advertisements promoting yogurt for the gut, evidently issues with digestion abound.

Sugar, refined grains, acid-creating foods and cooked foods will continue to exacerbate the digestive issues.  Raw food, while it may be difficult to digest in the beginning, is still the best approach to eliminate digestive issues.  We recommend digestive enzymes for those eating cooked food, but in recent years, we have found that anyone introducing raw food into their systems has found great benefit in adding digestive enzymes to their meal.

One easy way to begin eating raw foods is to place the contents of your salad into a blender and then pour your salad into a bowl and eat it with a spoon.  Dr. Russell Blaylock is a strong proponent of what he calls “blenderized vegetables” since they are much easier on the digestion system and the nutrients can be assimilated more easily into the body.

In our new cancer book, Unravel the Mystery A Simple, Effective Approach to Beating Cancer, we highly recommend anyone with compromised immune systems, or other serious diseases to consume at least one blended salad every day.  You can actually consume more in that bowl than you likely could if it were on a large dinner plate.  We also recommend anyone dealing with a severe physical issue to consume digestive enzymes and HCL to help in the assimilation of nutrients from the foods eaten– even raw fruits and vegetables.

So the next time you feel a little off, remember, it’s the simple things in life that can make a world of difference.  Reach for a digestive enzyme and maybe even a hydrochloric acid and see if that can right what’s wrong!
