Friday, February 12 will be a monumental day in the history of Hallelujah Acres as the organization celebrates three milestones, the Grand Opening of the all-new Hallelujah Acres Café, the 76th birthday of founder, Rev. George Malkmus and Hallelujah Acres’ 18th anniversary.
Aptly named, “The Big Day” will feature a full day of activities, all free and open to the public. The day begins with the Grand Opening ribbon cutting of The Hallelujah Acres Café at 10:30 am. Guests are invited to stay and enjoy appetizer-sized versions of the café’s gourmet creations, watch food prep demonstrations every half hour, have a piece of birthday cake, enter to win door prizes, and much more.
The all-new Hallelujah Acres Café is a complete departure from the original café, which was as an all-you-can-eat organic garden buffet. In contrast, guests are now seated by a hostess and handed an exclusive (yet affordable) menu that showcases the surprising possibilities of exceptional flavors of vegetarian fare. Entrees include sundried tomato and mushroom zucchini pasta, marinated Portobello mushroom burgers, dairy-free pomegranate cheesecake, and even a vegetarian version of herb crusted salmon. Café hours are Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (free samples replace the regular menu on Friday, February 12).
Half-hourly food prep demonstrations during The Big Day festivities will reveal the secrets of preparing vegetarian delicacies. Guests will learn how to make everything from burgers and smoothies to almond milk, and the super nutritious vegetable juices Hallelujah Acres is famous for. Several prize drawings will be made during the afternoon; everyone is invited to enter to win (attendance during drawings is not required).
Hallelujah Acres staff will be on hand during the afternoon to address questions about the many facets of the business including:
- Hallelujah Acres Events – including an annual Women’s Retreat, 60-day health programs, culinary classes, free seminars, workshops and more in Shelby and across the country.
- Hallelujah Acres Lifestyle Centers – educational, vegetarian retreat centers in California, Florida, Missouri and North Carolina.
- The Villages of Hallelujah Acres – a master-planned, healthy lifestyle neighborhood across the street from Hallelujah Acres headquarters.
Hallelujah Acres is a non-denominational Christian organization dedicated to helping others discover that, by simply changing their diet, they can be symptom-free of most diseases and many other health-related conditions. It is our mission to help people everywhere experience vibrant health by empowering the self-healing body God created with a diet and lifestyle as described in the book of Genesis.
